Terms & Conditions

1. WHO YOUR AGREEMENT IS WITH

  • When you book your stay your agreement will be with Dartmoor Caravan Park. See the bottom of this page for further details.

2. THE AGREEMENT

  • 2.1 There will be a contract between you and Dartmoor Caravan Park ("we"/"us"/"our"), when we accept your first payment (if you are booking by phone), or in person. These terms are part of your contract with us
  • 2.2 The person making the booking accepts the contract on behalf of all members of your party and is responsible for making sure they accept the contract.
  • 2.3 We can’t accept bookings from anyone under the age of 18.

3. ALTERATIONS TO THE BOOKING

  • 3.1 Once there is a contract you can’t transfer or change your booking without our agreement.
  • 3.2 If you want to make small changes (e.g. type of accommodation, dates or party members) we will try to help.
  • 3.3 If we are able to accommodate your desired changes there will be an added administration cost of £10.

4. CANCELING YOUR BOOKING

  • 4.1 You must cancel your booking 7 days before your arrival date is due in order to claim a full refund.
  • 4.2 Deposits are non-refundable if you cancel your holiday within the seven days leading up to your booking.
  • 4.3 If you leave your holiday earlier than booked the full cost of the original booking must still be paid by you to us.
  • 4.4 If you need to cancel your holiday please call us or email us at postmaster@dartmoorcaravanpark.co.uk. The date of your call or the date we receive your email is the date of the cancellation.

5. PAYING FOR YOUR BOOKING

  • 5.1 When you book you will need to pay a deposit.
  • 5.2 Deposits must be paid in full by the date stated at the time of booking.
  • 5.3 The balance of your payment must be paid two weeks before the start of your holiday.
  • 5.4 Details of any deposit and the balance payable will be in the booking confirmation if you have enquired by email.
  • 5.5 If you book your holiday less than 2 weeks before the start date you must pay the full amount of your holiday at the time of booking.

6. SPECIAL OFFERS

  • 6.1 To claim any special offers, discounts, promotional codes etc. please tell us when you book. If you don’t, we’re sorry we can’t honour these.
  • 6.2 All discounts, special offers etc. are subject to availability.

7. PRICES

  • 7.1 All prices are current at time of print and may be subject to change so could increase or decrease.
  • 7.2 The price confirmed when you book is the final price and will not change unless you alter your booking.
  • 7.3 All prices may vary from time to time and without warning.

8. WHO IS IN YOUR PARTY

  • 8.1 When you book you need to give the names and ages of everyone in your party.
  • 8.2 You must bring ID with you as you may be asked for this on arrival or during your stay.
  • 8.3 Only those people on your booking can occupy your holiday home or pitch and anyone not named on your booking will be asked to leave the park; and
  • 8.4 In these circumstances no refund or compensation will be given.

9. VISOR

  • 9.1 We do not accept bookings from or allow anyone to stay on our park who is listed on the Violent and Sex Offenders Register (or any register which supersedes this).
  • 9.2 By making a booking, you are confirming that no one in your party is on this Register.

10. NUMBERS IN YOUR PARTY

  • 10.1 The total number in your party (including children and babies) must not exceed the maximum capacity of the pitch you have been allocated.
  • 10.2 We reserve the right to refuse holiday bookings for single occupancy during busy periods.

11. ELECTRICITY

  • 11.1 Our booking prices already incorporate electricity use for your motorhome's/caravan's cooker, shower, fridge, lights, television and radio; and
  • 11.2 If you are on a site that does not have an electricity meter installed it is prohibited to use our electricity for powering battery chargers, air conditioning systems, washing machines and tumble driers.
  • 11.3 If you wish to use any items from section 11.2 then you must request a site that already has a meter fitted before booking.
  • 11.4 We reserve the right to install and maintain electricity meters to and on any pitch at any time and without notice.

12. HOLIDAY USE

  • As our park is a holiday park we don’t accept bookings if you want to stay for work or use the park as a base to travel to work or for residential use.

13. ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE

  • 13.1 Your pitch will be available from 12pm on your arrival day.
  • 13.2 If you think you may arrive after 6pm please let us know.
  • 13.3 If your accommodation is not occupied by 10am on the day after your arrival day and you haven’t told us you will be arriving late, we will treat your booking as cancelled and re-let the pitch.
  • 13.4 You should leave your pitch by 11:30am on your departure date.

14. CHILDREN

  • 14.1 All children must be supervised by parents or guardians throughout the holiday.
  • 14.2 Please make sure you always know where your children are.

15. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • 15.1 Guests with additional needs and requirements are welcome at our park.
  • 15.2 Our park can offer suitable pitches for holidaymakers with wheelchairs or mobility difficulties although unfortunately, due to their weight, electric wheelchairs and mobility scooters are not able to be used in all locations.
  • 15.3 If you or one of your party has any additional needs or requirements please tell us about this before you book so we can try to ensure the pitch and park is suitable for you. If you don’t tell us we can’t be held responsible.
  • 15.4 We will try to accommodate any special requirements but can’t guarantee this.

16. SMOKING

  • 16.1 All the public areas are non-smoking, smoking and use of E-cigarettes are not permitted in any areas that are outside of your own pitch.
  • 16.2 Smoking inside public buildings such as the park's toilet/shower block if strictly forbidden, if you or someone in your party smokes inside a park building the person who made the booking will be responsible to pay an additional fee of £80 for deep cleaning.

17. PETS

  • 17.1 Most dogs are welcome at our park but only in pet friendly pitches.
  • 17.2 A maximum of two dogs per booking.
  • 17.3 Some breeds of dog, including those listed in the Dangerous Dog Act are not allowed so check with us when you book.
  • 17.4 Please enquire before you book whether other pets are allowed.
  • 17.5 Dogs must be kept on a lead under the control of a responsible adult at all times and wear a collar with identity tag.
  • 17.6 You must clean up after your pets.
  • 17.7 Pets (other than assistance dogs) are not allowed in any facilities or play areas.
  • 17.8 If we think your pet is causing a nuisance or damage you will be required to remove it from the park.
  • 17.9 If you take a pet into a pitch which is not booked as pet friendly you will be required to pay an additional fee of £5 for the cleaning of the pitch.

18. USE OF YOUR PITCH

  • 18.1 At the end of your holiday please leave everything in a clean and tidy condition.
  • 18.2 You may be required to pay for any damage you cause to your pitch during your stay.
  • 18.3 We have the right to enter your pitch for maintenance purposes (e.g destroying weeds, grass cutting, grass strimming, electric point maintenance etc) or in special circumstances and in emergencies.
  • 18.4 You agree to not fly any flags higher than your tallest vehicle so views are preserved, we reserve the right to ask you to take down any flags we deem unsuitable.
  • 18.5 Aerials are allowed a maximum of 2 meters above your tallest vehicle.

19. YOUR POSSESSIONS

  • 19.1 You are responsible for your personal possessions on park, and we aren’t responsible for any loss or damage to these.
  • 19.2 If you leave personal possessions behind at the end of your holiday we’ll try to return them but are not responsible for them.

20. CLEANING VEHICLES

  • 20.1 Our holiday prices do not include water/electricity use for washing vehicles of any kind.
  • 20.2 If you wish to wash any vehicles then you must purchase one wash token per vehicle from reception in order to use our dedicated car washing equipment (the "Washer").
  • 20.3 You acknowledge that your use of the Washer is at your own risk.
  • 20.4 The Washer is provided on an "as-available" basis.
  • 20.5 Without prejudice to the foregoing generality: We do not warrant that the Washer will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free at all times or will meet your requirements; we do not take any responsibility, and we are not liable for any damage caused through use of the Washer, be it indirect, special, incidental or consequential damages (including but not limited to damages for loss of business, loss of profits, interruption or the like).

21. VEHICLES

  • 21.1 You need to comply with speed limits at all times, parking and traffic regulations on site. The speed limit throughout the park is currently 10mph.
  • 21.2 We try to provide parking next to or near your pitch, but we can’t guarantee this, please ask at time of booking.
  • 21.3 Vehicles are brought into the holiday park at your own risk, and we are not responsible for loss or damage to these except where it is caused by our direct negligence or fault.
  • 21.4 Please note we do not currently have a facility to charge hybrid cars. You are not permitted to charge your car using the park's electricity.

22. PARKING

  • 22.1 Where possible each pitch has been allocated parking for one caravan and one car.
  • 22.2 If you need to park more than one car on your pitch you will need to enquire before booking; and
  • 22.3 Surcharges will be applicable for extra cars, please check before booking.
  • 22.4 Your vehicles must be parked inside your pitch at all times for safety reasons and access.

23. UTILITIES

  • 23.1 We provide electricity and water (the "Utilities") to our pitches.
  • 23.2 In most cases if you are staying longer than 3 consecutive weeks you will be allocated a pitch that comes with an electricity meter (the "Meter"). You will be given a card (the "Card") at the start of your holiday whereby you can purchase credit for your meter from reception.
  • 23.3 You accept full responsibility for the Card, should you or a member of your party damage or lose the Card you will be charged £5 for a replacement.
  • 23.4 It is your responsibility to keep your Meter credited.
  • 23.5 We will use our reasonable endeavours to make the Utilities available 24 hours a day, however we will not be liable if for any reason the Utilities are not available at any time or for any period.
  • 23.6 Access to the Utilities may be suspended at any time.
  • 23.7 We reserve the right to install a Meter at any time and without warning.
  • 23.8 Utilities can be stopped at any time and without warning for maintenance, in emergencies and if payments for your pitch are not on time as per the agreement. If you require any assistance in relation to the Utilities, you should contact reception.
  • 23.9 You acknowledge that your use of the Utilities is at your own risk.
  • 23.10 The Utilities are provided on an "as-available" basis, and to the fullest extent permitted by law, we hereby exclude all and any warranties or conditions of any kind, whether express or implied, in respect of the Utilities.
  • 23.11 Without prejudice to the foregoing generality: We do not warrant that the Utilities will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free at all times or will meet your requirements; we do not take any responsibility, and we are not liable for any damage caused through use of the Utilities, be it indirect, special, incidental or consequential damages (including but not limited to damages for loss of business, loss of profits, interruption or the like).

24. INTERNET

  • 24.1 The internet access services, comprising the wireless service (the "Service") are provided for you by us.
  • 24.2 By gaining access to the Service, you agree to abide by the WiFi terms and conditions (the "Terms"), read the Terms.
  • 24.3 If you do not agree to all of the Terms, please do not use the Service.

25. BEHAVIOUR

  • 25.1 Our park is a family holiday park so please ensure your behaviour is appropriate and not noisy, offensive or likely to cause any harm or upset to other guests, staff or property at the park.
  • 25.2 If we feel your behaviour is illegal, offensive, disruptive or inappropriate or is disturbing other guests we will ask you to leave the park and no refund will be given.

26. FILMING AND PHOTOGRAPHY

  • The use of drones is not permitted within the park grounds for safety reasons and the noise produced by drones.

27. IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM

  • 27.1 We do all we can to make sure you enjoy your holiday but sometimes things may go wrong. If this happens please tell the Park reception straight away, and we will try to put things right.
  • 27.2 If we can’t, then you can leave on the first day of your holiday and receive a full refund.
  • 27.3 If you decide to stay or don’t give us the chance to put things right first you’ll not be entitled to a refund.

28. CANCELLATION BY US

  • 28.1 Very occasionally, we may have to cancel your booking. If we have to cancel your booking then we will tell you as soon as possible, and you can choose either to have a full refund, or accept any alternative arrangements offered to you, or book another holiday with us at the current price; and
  • 28.2 We will have no further liability to you for this.

29. MAINTENANCE

  • 29.1 All pitches are maintained throughout the year at any time and without notice, we always aim to do this in between guests changeover; but
  • 29.2 If you are spending longer than 3 consecutive weeks you agree to destroy/remove all weeds on your pitch to ensure your pitch is kept presentable at all times.
  • 29.3 We use chemical weed control (the "Chemicals") throughout the site, to opt out of the Chemicals please request approval from reception before booking, Opt out of Chemicals is only granted in some special circumstances and only if you agree to destroy/remove all weeds yourself from your pitch during your stay to a high standard.
  • 29.4 We reserve the right to cancel any opt out agreement at any time and without notice should we deem that the high standards of weed removal are not being maintained.

30. WASTE DISPOSAL

  • 30.1 All waste must be disposed of in the correct manner and in the correct bins that can be found in the bin area; and
  • 30.2 You agree to follow all the waste disposal requirements set out by West Devon Borough Council.
  • 30.3 Our waste area is not equipped to deal with any Items that are not household waste; and
  • 30.4 You accept full responsibility and liability for any financial costs incurred should you dispose any waste incorrectly.
  • 30.5 Should the bins be full you accept responsibility to ensure you store your waste safely in your pitch until the bins have been emptied.
  • 30.6 You accept responsibility to ensure your waste will not be stored in such a way we deem hazardous to you, your party, us or other guests.

31. WEBSITE ACCURACY

  • 31.1 We have taken all care to make sure our website is correct at time of being published.
  • 31.2 We cannot accept responsibility for any errors or the results of these.
  • 31.3 Photographs of accommodation are examples only and may vary.
  • 31.4 We are not responsible to you for unforeseen events or matters over which we have no control.

32. OUR LIABILITY TO YOU

  • 32.1 We are responsible for any loss or damage you may suffer as a result of our negligence or wilful default, but otherwise are not liable to you for any loss or damage you suffer.
  • 32.2 Our liability to you is limited to the cost of your holiday, except in the case of death or personal injury.
  • 32.3 We don’t operate the local attractions which are not on the park or act as an agent for these, and so we are not liable for any damage or loss you may suffer when buying tickets or visiting the attraction.
  • 32.4 Your statutory rights are not affected by anything in these terms and conditions.

33. YOUR INFORMATION

  • 33.1 The information you give us in connection with your booking is held by Dartmoor Caravan Park (as a data controller) in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018 and the EU General Data Protection Regulation 2016 (as applicable).
  • 33.2 We use this information to help us to provide and improve our service to you and to provide you with information about our park.
  • 33.3 We may disclose this information to our agents, contractors, insurers and insurance brokers and their advisers, and to others if we are legally required to do so, or where we believe it is necessary to protect our or another person’s rights, property or safety.
  • 33.4 Where you make an enquiry or booking with us, we will process your data for our marketing purposes only.
  • 33.5 If you do not want us to send marketing information please contact us using the telephone number or address below. Alternatively, you can email us at postmaster@dartmoorcaravanpark.co.uk.
  • 33.6 We use CCTV cameras at some locations at our park for crime prevention and safety reasons.
  • 33.7 You should ensure other members in your party know about the information you provide and how we use it and agree to it. For further information on how we process your personal data please see our privacy policy.

33. CHANGES TO TERMS

  • Dartmoor Caravan Park may change these terms from time to time.
